The blog is an informal platform for Andrew and Dave to discuss the ins and outs of starting a seafood promotion program. It's no picnic... or is it one big picnic with tons of great seafood?! You decide. Loosen your tie and weigh in on current topics here.

Where did January go?

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Well, it’s not gone yet: we have two more Whole Foods Market seafood cooking classes scheduled before January ends, and they promise to be even more fun than the last series. Week three of January is a great time to take stock of your resolutions – or to hurry up and make them if you didn’t get around to it before now. If one of your resolutions was to “eat healthier,” you’re in luck. End the month with a little more knowledge and a lot more fun with one of our cooking classes at Whole Foods Market.

Every class features a 5 course menu. Because the Whole Foods Market theme this month is “Healthy Eating,” Andrew has created a menu that is light, flavorful, and chock full of ingredients that will make you feel good about what you’re eating.

Class Menu

  • Seared Albacore Tuna Salad
  • Crispy Halibut with Mustard and White Beans
  • Gazpacho Style Wild Salmon
  • Clam and Mussel Stew with Chickpeas and Zucchini
  • Baked Tilapia with Balsamic Raisin Sauce

About the Classes
Andrew’s extensive culinary background has given him great insight into how to make cooking at home easy.  We’ll discuss tips that will make you a better cook, whether you’re making dinner for 6 or a snack for yourself.  We’ll also talk about what is required to make seafood sustainable, and why it’s important to know what’s in the food we eat and where it comes from.

All of the ingredients used in our Whole Foods Market class series can be found right there in the store, so you can take home more than just some great ideas – you can bring home dinner. Plus, everyone in attendance will receive a complimentary admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific!

Ah, it’s that wonderful time of year once again.  I’m speaking, of course, of the time after Thanksgiving when everyone is completely sated with turkey and thoughts begin to drift in the direction of seafood.  No?  Well, how does this menu sound: (more…)
